TIPS TO RECOVER FROM THE SCHOOL YEAR AND TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS

We all agree that it has been a hard school year, don't we? We have had to get used to new routines (face masks, hand sanitizers, classrooms with open windows in winter, online teaching, lockdowns...).
Each school year I need the first days of the summer holidays to get over the stressed of the school year and today I would like to share with you some tips I put into practice to recover and make the most of my summer.
1) SET OFF THE ALARM CLOCK. This is one of the first things I do on 30th June. I sleep until my body has enough. This doesn't mean I get up at 11 am, but I let my body "speak". Ok, you may have kids and that's not so easy. Then, make sure that you have time for you before everybody wakes up. During this time you can do those activities you like the most: reading a book, stretching, having a cup of coffee or tea in silent...
2) EAT HEALTHY. You may agree with me that when we are under stress we tend to eat more junk food, drink more coffee or tea... Now it's time to detox our body. Let's refill our body with fruits, vegetables, lots of water, good protein... πππ³ Hey! But if you meet up with friends a nice meal with wine and some laugh are the best to cheer you up.
3) MOVE YOUR BODY. During the year I keep active pratising HIIT, yoga, jogging, riding my bike to school... For me, it is a must in my life to keep balance physically and mentally. It helps me to cope with stress and to socialise ππ. Summer is the time of year I work out more. It is the first thing I do when I get up in the morning. I must confess that some days I do exercise in the morning and in the afternoon. And three weeks ago I took up a new hobby: kayaking!
4) CATCH UP WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES. After this pandemic year, our relationships have been reduced to a small circle. Now it's time to catch up with your friends and relatives that you haven't seen for months. So, come on! Start dating with your acquaintances. This is another must in my summer π
5) NATURE, SUN AND SEA. During the school year, we have spent hours in front of our laptops and we may have complained of not having time to walk in the nature or to sunbathe. There is no excuse now. I like walking around the lake of my town, going to the sea and to sunbathe. Connecting with nature helps me connect with myself and with the present moment. And... do you know that nowadays a lot of people have a deficiency of Vitamin D, which is really important for some functions of our body? And the sea... it's my "medicine". Swimming in the sea is so relaxing for me!
These are basically the routines that contribute to my recovery and that prepare me to enjoy the summer.
