KAGAN STRUCTURES AND COOPERATIVE LEARNING

 Morning!

Today's post is about Cooperative Learning. Cooperative Learning seems to be in style nowadays, but Cooperative Learning has had a lot of supporters for decades.

In the school where I have been working for 11 years, cooperative learning has been present in our classes for at least two decades. Since I started working in this school, I have been applying some cooperative learning techniques, but discovering KAGAN STRUCTURES in a training course for teachers was a turning point.

Have you ever heard about KAGAN STRUCTURES? Kagan Structures was developed by Dr Spencer Kagan in the 80s. Some months ago I couldn't help buying his book "Kagan Cooperative Learning". This book is a must if you want to implement cooperative learning in your class. The book is divided into 17 chapters and it deals with both more theoretical concepts and structures that you can do in your class.

The theoretical concepts are easy to read and they clarify questions about cooperative learning.

The more practical part gives you structurs regarding: management, classbuilding, teambuilding and social skills. It includes so many structures that neither you nor your students will never get bored.

I highly recommend this book if you need to include cooperative learning strategies in your classes.
